SFS delivered firestopping and compartmentation upgrades across multiple wards at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust without disrupting patient care.
Firestopping upgrade works were carried out within a live hospital environment to improve compartmentation integrity. All works were delivered reactively and carefully coordinated with ward matrons to ensure patient care and clinical operations were not disrupted.
Delivering works in a live hospital required careful planning, with restricted access, reactive scheduling, and strict infection control which dictated how and when works could take place.
We adopted a coordinated approach, working closely with ward teams to manage access, align works with clinical activity, and maintain clear QA and site controls throughout.
The programme was delivered without disruption, improving compartmentation while meeting NHS compliance requirements and providing full QA documentation.
