Cavity barriers are a critical part of a building’s fire and smoke control strategy, designed to prevent hidden fire spread through voids, façades, and concealed construction cavities.
In the event of a fire, these unseen spaces can act as chimneys, rapidly spreading flames beyond the compartment of origin. Properly specified and installed cavity barriers restore the compartmentation line, protecting escape routes, structural integrity, and adjacent occupancies.
