In the event of a fire, these unseen spaces can act as chimneys, rapidly spreading flames beyond the compartment of origin. Properly specified and installed cavity barriers restore the compartmentation line, protecting escape routes, structural integrity, and adjacent occupancies.

Designed for use in ventilated façades and rainscreen cladding systems, open-state barriers allow normal ventilation during daily operation but rapidly close under fire conditions to prevent fire and smoke spread.
