Managing Director

Jamie O’Hagan

As Managing Director of Structural Fireproofing Systems Ltd, Jamie O’Hagan leads the company with a clear focus on quality, compliance and long-term client relationships.

Having grown up within the business founded by his father, the late Jim O’Hagan, Jamie has carried forward the family’s reputation for professionalism, attention to detail and integrity.

With over 30 years of experience in the fire protection industry, Jamie’s knowledge of both technical systems and on-site delivery is extensive. He continues to play a vital role in shaping the wider industry through his position as Vice Chairman of the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) Council, a role that allows him to contribute directly to the development of fire safety standards and best practice across the UK.

Jamie remains actively involved in project oversight, ensuring that every SFS contract reflects the company’s founding principles of reliability, transparency, and technical excellence.

Financial Director

Danny Wilson

Danny Wilson is responsible for the financial management and strategic growth of Structural Fireproofing Systems Ltd.

With a strong background in commercial and operational efficiency, Danny ensures that the company’s financial structure supports both stability and sustainable expansion.

Danny also plays an important role in the future of the fire protection industry as the Vice Chairman of the ASFP Young Leaders Group, mentoring emerging professionals and promoting knowledge sharing across the next generation of fire safety specialists.

His combined expertise in finance, compliance, and leadership ensures that SFS continues to operate with integrity, efficiency, and accountability, values that underpin every project we deliver.

The late Jim O’Hagan, founder of Structural Fireproofing Systems Ltd, was a respected figure within the fire protection community and a driving force behind the company’s success.

A long-serving member of the ASFP Council, Jim was instrumental in raising professional standards across the sector. His dedication to training, certification, and craftsmanship earned him the inaugural ASFP Lifetime Achievement Award, a fitting recognition of a career devoted to protecting lives and improving the industry he loved.

Head of Our Operations Team Construction

John Sharpe

John Sharpe is the Head of Construction at Structural Fireproofing Systems Ltd and is a highly experienced fire protection specialist with a career spanning over 40 years, having entered the industry in 1984. Throughout his career, John has built extensive expertise across multiple sectors of fire protection, including system design, installation, and large-scale project delivery. Known for his leadership and practical approach, he was promoted to Contract Manager in 2019, where he led multiple site teams and oversaw the delivery of fire protection works across demanding project environments.

In his role as Head of Construction at SFS, John is responsible for overseeing site delivery, managing construction teams and ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with industry standards and client expectations. His depth of technical knowledge, combined with strong contract and team management skills, plays a key role in maintaining SFS’s reputation for quality workmanship and reliable project delivery.

Head of Fire Doors

Richard Ray

Richard brings over 30 years of experience in Passive Fire Protection, supporting projects from early design development and bid stages through to negotiation, contract award, and full commercial management. His background spans the complete lifecycle of passive fire protection delivery, ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and robust commercial outcomes.

For more than 15 years, Richard has specialised in fire door installations, surveys, and remedial works, working both directly and indirectly with Main Contractors and End Users across the public and private sectors. His experience includes extensive involvement with banking groups, the NHS, listed and heritage buildings, the Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Justice, where compliance, security, and quality are critical.

As Head of the Fire Door Division at Structural Fireproofing Systems Ltd, Richard leads a highly experienced team of installation specialists. Together, they provide clear technical guidance, practical support, and consistently high-quality workmanship. This commitment to standards and service has resulted in strong customer satisfaction and a high level of repeat business across multiple sectors.

Chief Technical Officer

Jason Rowbotham

Jason Rowbotham is the Chief Technical Officer at Structural Fireproofing Systems Ltd and brings over 20 years of experience in commercial construction, with a strong background in fire safety systems and technical delivery.

Jason has developed a wealth of fire and life safety expertise through his extensive time within the active smoke and fire curtain industry, where he held senior roles spanning estimating, project management, contract management, and technical sales. His experience includes working closely with designers, contractors and end clients to educate key stakeholders.

This breadth of experience has given Jason a deep understanding of the full project lifecycle, from concept design and early-stage technical engagement through to installation, coordination and project delivery. In his role at SFS, Jason provides technical leadership across the business, supporting compliant system selection, technical problem-solving and early engagement to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the approved fire strategy.

Jason’s approach combines practical construction knowledge with strong technical insight, helping SFS maintain its commitment to quality, compliance and best practice across all projects.

Contracts Operations Manager

Scott Parsons

Scott joined Structural Fireproofing Systems Ltd in 2021 with no prior experience in passive fire protection and has since developed into a key member of the operations team. Over the past four years, he has built a strong understanding of SFS’s services, becoming a reliable and trusted point of contact across multiple projects. In his role as Contracts Operations Manager, Scott is responsible for ordering, procurement, and liaising with suppliers, ensuring materials and systems are sourced efficiently and in line with project requirements. More recently, Scott has provided direct operational support to the Head of Fire Doors, Richard Ray and has taken a leading role in the delivery of the Primark Maintenance Programme, coordinating reactive works.

Scott’s progression within SFS reflects the company’s commitment to developing people from within, and his hands-on approach and growing leadership responsibilities make him a key part of the day-to-day operational success of the business.

Senior Estimator

Sarah Lewin

Sarah Lewin is responsible for managing tenders and enquiries, providing accurate and competitive quotations to a broad range of clients.

Sarah came to Structural Fireproofing Systems Ltd with a background in bid writing within the utility industry. She uses that skillset to engage and coordinate with clients, both new and existing.

Following in the footsteps of her mother, Judith Lewin, Sarah is the newest member of the SFS team and is looking to build upon the strong reputation that Judith has within the industry.
