Lloyds Bank National Fire Door Programme

SFS delivered national fire door surveys, remediation, and replacements across Lloyds Bank sites, improving compliance and consistent QA standards.

Fire Door Surveys
Remedial Works & Replacement

Project overview

A national programme of fire door surveys, remedial works, and fire door replacements delivered across multiple Lloyds Bank premises throughout the UK. The works were undertaken within live banking environments, requiring strict security controls, careful planning, and coordination with multiple stakeholders.

The Challenge

Delivering a consistent and compliant fire door programme across nationwide banking environments required close collaboration with security teams, facilities managers, and site representatives at every location.

  • Works were carried out within operational bank branches and offices, where security and confidentiality were paramount.
  • Fire door works involved security-rated doors, requiring coordination between fire safety requirements and banking security systems.
  • Each site required a pre-survey and defined scope of works prior to delivery.
  • Multiple parties were involved, including facilities management teams, security contractors, and client representatives.
  • A consistent, compliant approach was required across numerous locations nationwide.
Our Solution

At each location, Structural Fireproofing Systems Ltd (SFS) undertook pre-surveys to define an agreed scope prior to works commencing, coordinating with the client’s facilities and security teams to deliver remedial works and certified replacements consistently across all sites.

  • SFS undertook pre-surveys at each location to assess existing fire doors, identify non-compliances, and define an agreed scope of works.
  • Works were planned in close coordination with the client’s facilities and security teams to ensure alignment with operational and security requirements.
  • Fire door remedial works were completed where possible to restore compliance, minimising unnecessary replacement.
  • Where required, fully certified fire doorsets were supplied and installed, incorporating appropriate security hardware and locking systems.
  • All installations and remedial works were carried out by FIRAS-accredited operatives, following manufacturer guidance and test evidence.
  • Photographic QA evidence and certification were provided for each site, ensuring consistency and traceability across the national programme.
The Results

Nationwide, fire door compliance was significantly improved through a consistent approach to surveys, remediation, and replacement, supported by full QA documentation.

  • Fire door compliance improved across multiple Lloyds Bank locations nationwide.
  • A consistent approach to surveys, remediation, and replacement was achieved across all sites.
  • Works were delivered safely and discreetly within live, secure banking environments.
  • Full QA records and third-party certification were provided to support ongoing compliance and audit requirements.
  • A scalable framework was established for continued fire door management across the estate.
