Cafco International's experience
Since its beginnings in the USA, Cafco International has over 30 years of experience in passive fire protection of structures in the construction, hydrocarbon and tunnelling industries.

For the construction industry, Cafco International has provided protection against cellulosic fires for structural steel and concrete multi-storey buildings, hospitals, airports and similar framed structures for over 40 years. Over 30 million m² of building structures have been protected.

For the hydrocarbon industries, the recent acquisition of the Mandoval coatings business in the UK has given Cafco International over 30 years experience of providing protection against pool and jet fires in on-shore petrochemical and power plants and off-shore oil and gas installations. Over 3 million m² of on-shore structures, and over 4 million m² of off-shore installations, have been protected.

For the tunnelling industry, Cafco International has not only 30 years experience, but has carried out pioneering work on the fire resistance of rail and road tunnels, particularly in preventing concrete linings from spalling, and steel or cast iron linings from weakening. Over 1 million m² of linings have been protected.

In-house fire testing
Fire-proofing solutions for all new and refurbishment projects are underpinned by Cafco International's in-house fire tests. The testing facilities are also available for investigative testing and for testing proposed construction details as part of Cafco International's service. back to top

Manufacturing and R&D facilities
Products are manufactured by Cafco companies in the UK, USA, Luxembourg, France and Italy, as well as through manufacturing licensee arrangements in Thailand, Indonesia, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, South Africa, India and Spain.

Quality assurance
Cafco International operates a quality system in accordance with BS EN ISO 9002: 1994, and has received full accreditation by BSI to these standards. Operating to these standards means that all activities that have a bearing on quality have are set out in written procedures. Systematic and thorough checks are made on all materials and their usage. Test equipment is subjected to regular checks, and is referred back to national standards. back to top
